    Bathtub leak
My bathtub is directly above my basement. When I drained the tub< the water went directly onto the basement floor. I went down and looked at the pipe and where it connects to the tub< it looks like a black ring of some sort was hanging broke. Is there an easy fix for this?

Can you show us a picture of this? May be a simple fix, or may take some work. Please let us know if you can post pics.

I don't have enough light to take a good picture, but its really easy to explain. I looks like where the elbow shaped pipe that connects to the tub had some kind if rubber ring that rotted off. The pipe is still connected, but the water leaks through

Remove tub basket, replace rubber gasket on bottom side of tub, re-putty tub basket, reinstall tub basket.

Hears a pic, let me know if this helps.
