    Setting up a new HDTV
I bought a 32" LCD HDTV and despite folllowing all directions I cannot get it to work with my cable box, VCR and DVD. After a few hours I gave up and am now just using the input directly from the coaxle cable. It's a great picture but gives me no DVR or recording possibilities. The instructon manual is not helpful and I was able to use everything on my previous TV but this TV has different slots. Any advice from a TV tech. would be appreciated. Thanks.

The first question to answer is whether your cable box/DVR is capable of hi-def. This would be a question for your cable company. A VCR is by definition NOT hi-def, but it should still provide a standard definition picture. If your DVD player is not a Blu-Ray player then it is not hi-def either (but in my opinion, standard DVD is plenty good enough).

What do you mean it doesn't work? No picture at all? No hi-def picture? Other??

Also, some more info on your particular equipment would be helpful in getting a more specific answer.

    Good luck,
