Can I still be pregnant at the age of 40?
Is it possible for me to get pregnant at 40? I had a child at 32, and I want to have another child but I will be turning 40 this June. Is is still possible?

    Hi, LEIDON!

I think that my mother was 43 when she gave birth to me. I also know a number of women who gave birth after the age of 40.

I'm sure that others will be able to give you advice as to possible complications and risks though for a woman giving birth later in her life.

    Thanks!

It's very much possible. I have had several women in their 40's having babies. Some had medical assistance but others found it happened naturally for them. The need for medical assistance to achieve pregnancy does go up in the 40's so a good idea would be to see your doctor for a preconception visit. Testing will be done much sooner if you do not become pregnant on your own within about 6 months... if not sooner.
Being older, you do increase the possibility for certain risks, such as miscarriage, gestational diabetes, downs syndrome, etc. but the odds are still in your favor that all will be fine.

My sister was born when my step mother was 46. No problems, and she's super!

It has happened before. My grandmother was 46 when she had my mother. I say if it's something you want to do then you give it a hell of a try girl! Go for it!
