    Self-H1 & H4 Dependents visited USA after 5 Months
    Hi,

    I have Few questions:
    1. I came USA in Jun2008 but my h4 Dependents (Wife & Kid) visited USA in Dec08.
Can I claim for tax rebate for complete duration? There is NO SSN/ITIN number applied yet.
    2. Should I be filing as "Head of Household" or "Filling Jointly"?
    3. I am operating from Client location.
May I claim tax benefits with expenses like Commute etc.
    4. If yes to question3, what all proofs/documents required?

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

You can file joint return as residents. You can also claim exemption for your kid.
You are not head of household. Commuting miles are not deductible.
