How much does it cost to have your teeth whitened?
I currently wear braces and they are due to come off within the next one-two months. Soon after they come off I would like to get my teeth whitened and I was curious as to how much this generally costs? I have no idea how much it costs and I'm hoping it isn't too expensive..

    Hi Bonita,

It depends how fast a result you want. If you want an instant white then you are looking at a fee anywhere from $250-$600 in the Toronto area. This whitening will be done in the dental office and it takes about an hour.

If you want a long term result you may have to pay $150-300 for a take home kit.

I'd suggest you call Toronto's Dental Hygiene Clinic - Services
To check their fee for in office whitening.

Oooo my I was hoping it wouldn't be that expensive, for some reason I was thinking it would be around $100. I guess I'll look around and find the cheapest I can get lol. Thank you.

    Bonita,

You could use Crest White Strips, they are effective and cost under $50.00.

Oo I thought they wouldn't work, but my teeth aren't horrible anyway they're not very yellow I just wanted to have a bright white smile when my braces come off so I guess they'll be good enough. The way the economy is now I can't afford hundreds of dollars to get whiter teeth lol, considering the braces cost close to $10,000  I'm just wondering though what if I have to wear a retainer after my braces come off I don't think I can wear the strips then. I'm not sure how retainers work but I was under the impression that you wear it 24/7 right after your braces come off and eventually you only wear it at night, and if that's right I don't think I'll be able to wear the strips..

You only have to wear the strips for half an hour twice a day. You'll be fine. The orthodontist may place permanent retainers which you can't take out.
