I replaced my well pump after it was damaged due to freezing temperatures. I could not get my bladder tank to operate properly. Plumbing supply said needed replacing due to blown bladder. Both were only nine months old. Now my problem is: I can only run water for a few minutes then it kicks off breaker. Now what is wrong?

Is sounds like the bladder is blown You have "quick cycle" on the fowtrol/ pressure well switch. Check pressure of tank and that should be 2lbs less than the lowest setting for the pump to kick on. If its low add some air to get the right balance for the expansion balanced to the water line


To check the bladder bang at the bottom and work up to the top and see if it sounds hollow half way up. If not do this. Check the pressure setting on the well switch and see at what pressure it clicks on. The tank should be 2lbs less that the kick in on the well pump.

If the balance is not correct the braker can kick from the well switch kicking in and out. Another sign of a bad bladder is when you look at the well line gage and while its pumping the water pressure gage will jump all around and not come up smoothly in pressure
Repairs So it 2lbs lees on tank for kick in of pump and 2lbs less than shutoff of pump. If switch is set at 30/50 Tank at 28/ 48

Not too sure I agree with that. If its tripping the breaker, then you have something else going on. I would be amazed if you managed to go through TWO bladder tanks in only a year, even if we consider the freezing condition damaged the first one.

Is this pump above ground? Is it the same size as the old pump?

Lets have some more info please. Im assuming pump is above ground, but I'm confused about the deep well statement. If its to deep an above ground pump won't work. So this would mean you have a submersible pump. But a sub pump won't freeze. Or are you saying sub pump burnt up because of a frozen line (causing pump to run continuous) May have a bad wire, or wrong voltage pump setup. Give us some more details and we will try to help at least locate possible problems.
