My 6 month chorky has parvo
My chorky has parvo. She's been in the hospital for three days now. I was told earlier that the vet wanted to put her on a feeding tube, that she's has stopped eating and drinking. They have had an IV in since I took her in. On day two they said she was not acting like a dog with parvo and she might be able to go home in a day or two. I called today and was told about the feeding tube.
    My questions are:
Being a small dog (4 lbs) what are the chances of a good recovery? My vet has never treated such a small dog.
Next, what long term side effects may there be?
Last, is if any one has any other information that I may need to know. I have seen two of her litter mates die from it so I am a bit informed about the virus itself, just not about the virus in small breeds.

Parvo is a touchy one... my pup was in the hosptial on IV and in quarrantine for 8 days straight... and he made it.. he was 3 1/2 months old at the time.. the only thing they can do is keep the IV going and antibiotics.. my pup had a 50/50 chance each day... but with a good treatment they can make it.. if it was done right away..
And no lasting effects on them.. my pup is now 12 yrs old.. just make sure to get there shots after all this.. and they will most likely not get parvo again as they have built up an immunity to it...
