My brother is 18 years old. A friend of mine told him that he was the father of her 4year old son. That would make him to be 14 and my friend to be 18 when they slept together. She wants him to take a dna test and then sign his rights over. If he does that then would he still have to pay child support? He doesn't want to be a dad.:confused:

1. He will have to take the DNA test if it's ordered by the court.
2. He cannot just "sign over" his rights. Most judges will not let him do this unless there is another adult ready to adopt the child.
3. If your brother is established as the legal father of the child, he will be ordered to pay child support; he will also be entitled to visitation and other parental rights.

If the child's mother is asking him to sign away his rights, it sounds as if she doesn't want him in the child's life; this makes me think that this is only about money. She wants child support but doesn't want to share the child.

Did she list anyone on the child's birth certificate? A lot of states have statute of limitations on contesting paternity; if she named someone else as the father 4 years ago, it may be too late to go back and try to argue.
