I suppose that the shot is not for you. Some people cannot use depo provera for this reason.

I have been on depo for umm lets think. Going on EIGHT years... my doctors (yes I know its bad when you have like 4 different doctors you go to but I like hearing second opinions on things) said that one of the signs that depo is not the right one for you is if you bleed constantly on it. By all rights you should NOT get your next needle and try switching to a different form of BC... one question is. Did they try you on the pill form of depo before they gave you the shot. That is what they are supposed to do. So you and them can find out if you are going to react badly because of it

Thanks for the answers. As of Monday Jan 26 I went to the clinic. They actually wanted me to get the second shot!! I had to stand my ground and said it was causing me nothing but pain and grief. They finally listened to my pleas and changed me to ortho-tricyclen. Guess what? One day later the bleeding stopped and I haven't seen any bleeding since. Thanks guys for bringing me back to sanity.
Binx44, what is the pill form of depo? What is it called?

I believe it is called the same thing as the needle. All you would need to do is ask them about I. where do you live. I live in canada and they might not have that specific pill elsewhere

Typically here in the US we do not use a pill form of depo first. Just the needle.

J-9 wow that's scary... what about the people like the op who bleed straight for three months. There is no way that's healthy for you and the pill form can help prevent that from happening... *poor americans that are on depo*
