    Divorce American Style
I have been separated from my spouse for 12 years. What is the easiest avenue I can take to get a divorce? There isn't any large monetary assets between us and we don't own any property. I would appreciate any help. I am in Nevada.
    Thank you

You will need to file for divorce, through the courts. I wouldn't do anything through the courts without a lawyer, even if you don't have many assets.

There is no such thing as Divorce "Amercian Style". Each state has its own rules. Some states do have easy no-fault divorces.

If you both agree to all terms, you can do the paper work online and both sign it and file it.

I assume DIY is Do it Yourself,
Not a specific brand of divorce kit.

But yes, many people with no kids, no property to divide and when both people will agree to just sign the paper work, they can do the paper work online.

I still thiink both parties using a local attorney will be best, ( he can just do the paper work and you file your own)

Now if there are kids and property it is a lot harder.
I just did mine own with kids and property, there were required counseling sessions, there had to be a state approved parenting plan and more. My filing was about 240 pages when I got it to the court house to file. And this was an agreed to divorce, had she not agreed to the terms it would have been a lot more.

But if there is not little to do but sign, it is not that hard.
