    Acess Point?
Hello... I have googled around but I couldn't find a solution to my prob.. I have an asus p5w dh deluxe motherboard it comes with an onboard wifi card.I tried following the motherboards manual to setup an access point to provide wireless internet connection to my psp.I came across two problems.
1.when the wireless network connection is enable in the host computer(the one with the access point),I can't use internet(the internet connection gets disabled in the host computer)

2.when I scan for wireless networks available using my psp.. it detects the host computer(the one with the access point) and the host computer also detects the psp's mac address.but when tried testing the connection using psp it says acquiring ip address and then comes the error connection message..

The host computer is connected to a broadband router

 can anyone help me out

What do you mean "internet connection"; an IP address is not acquired, or you can't use your browser to go websites?

Sorry it's a little late, I should have read your question more throgoughly.

If you hired me, I'd quickly check for viruses and spyware first.

Can you ping the broadband router? You might want to try that too, if you can then you know the problem resides on your computer.

    If I understand correctly

You enable the host computer and then cannot acquire an IP address... times out?

The IP address will come from the Broadband router, if the "access point" is a switch or another router then you'll want to get into the administration panel of the routers and starting "pinging around" if you know what I mean.

From my 18 years plus in IT...

Most likely a router issue... If computer most likely a viruse/spyware or hardware issue with your wireless onboard card or motherboard. Check the jumper requirements for the onboard connectivity... sometimes you've got to change the parity for the processor to understand the onboard card is talking to it. :)

I know my answers are generalized, but this may point you in the right direction?

Thanks for the help... I didn't think of router being an issue..
