My mom is very mean, and nothing I do is ever right! I want my own apt.
My mom is always yelling at me and complaining and nothing I do is right, I just want to get emancipated so I can be happy again. I can't wear my hair in the style I like because she has a control issue she is always putting me down. She always tells me to grow up and be responsible but when I do something she tells me I'm not grown and then I get in trouble... sometimes I just hate her, does anyone know how I can get emancipated??

Well you have to go to court before a judge and he has to issue the emancipation

If you can prove to the judge that you earn enough money to live on your own and that you can realistically meet your responsibilities (school, rent, food, etc) then they might allow you to emancipate.
If you go to a judge and say you want to move out because your mom won't allow you to change your hair style it is very possible that he will tell you to go away.
Emancipation is for reasons that are serious - childbirth, adoptions, abuse... a hairstyle is not abuse.
How old are you?

Prove to the Court that you have an employment history and can support yourself, have an apartment (you cannot live with friends) and show proof that you are going to complete your education and you can get emancipated.
As Steve said, how old are you?

I am 17 as of Jan. 16, it is not just because of my hair she is just always on my case she makes me feel less of a person she makes me feel like I'm nothing!! She never lets me do anything, like I have a job and when I get paid, I cash my check, and then she takes it... and when she does let me keep my money I have to buy food, sanitary things, and all the stuff she should be buying as a parent and sometimes its like I am playing the parents role while she goes out and parties...

Judy was dead on though - if you can prove to the court that you can take care of yourself and not depend on the kindness of others or government assistance, then they might let you emancipate.

If your mother is somehow putting you in danger, not caring for you, not supporting you, would she allow you to live with your father or another relative (not friend)?

Happy Birthday to us (we share the same day).
Frankly, I'm not hearing enough to warrant emancipation. It sounds more like a teenager chafing under a strict parent's rules. And we have only heard one side of it. There may be reasons she is being strict with you. So my feeling is that its unlikely you will be granted emancipation.
To even try for it, you will have to prove stable employment, the ability to live on your own, some sort of real abuse, etc.
By the time you get all these proofs together you will be 18 or close to it. My recommendation is to bite the bullet and knuckle under for one more year. Save your money (why does mom take all your paycheck?) so that you will be able to move next year.

I don't know why she takes my paycheck, we will be fine and then she will just start yelling at me, out of no where... its like she is looking for a reason to be mad! She does abuse me verbally and emotional, she calls me a whore, B****, "My biggest mistake.", etc... And I am a virgin so why would she call me that? I have only had three boyfriends the first two were short rlationships and I have been with the third one for a year now! Who wouldn't be emotionally hurt if their mother talked to them this way?

Your mom can't take your paycheck. You should be able to get your own bank account and deposit your pay into it.
If you really feel you are being abused, talk to a counselor at school and ask for help.

What state are we talking about because some states don't really have emancipation laws on the books ?
