    Child Custody (Washington)
My daughter's father (my ex) wants joint custody. But I don't believe he is fit and do not want him involved in her life. We split up because he is addicted to opiates, marijuana, and alcohol. While under the influence of these he was very emotionally abusive to me and I have witnesses who can vouche for all of this but is that enough to keep him away? He also has not seen her or attempted to in 3 months. The last time he came he was telling my stepdad that one of his friends killed his other friend and then himself. I don't want her around that. If anyone knows of what I can do please help!

The only thing you can do is your best. You would be best off hiring an attorney to represent you to make sure your case is prepared properly.

With his history I doubt if he can get more than supervised visits.

Then it is all up to the court, you hire an attorney and ask for what you want, perhaps supervised visits and required drug tests.

And in the end the judge decides
