    Hi sdadigan:

All fixtures require a vent in some manner... whenther individually vented or wet vented depends on your area and your plumbing setup.

If you are adding a new shower, which requires a 2" drain pipe, and you can connect into a 2" sink drain then you may be able to use the sink vent to WET VENT the shower drain.

If no 2" drain to connect into then you will need to run a 2" pipe (and ptrap) and an 1.5" individual vent for the shower and then connect that 1.5" vent into the other vents at a minimum of 48" off the finish floor.

Finally, just to be thorough, you may also be allowed to install a mecahnical vent (air admittance valve AAV), but I don't see the point as you have all the other vents close by so makes no sense to use a mechanical vent that can break down years from now and need to be replaced, etc...

Let me know if you want to discuss this more...

1)Combination waste and vent has a vent pipe which runs horizontal for 15ft and than rise up through roof. UPC does not have any paragraphs to object this. Does anybody know what the risks are. THis is a system serving to one floor sink only with 2" tail pipe and 3" waste line.
