Replacing glow plus on a 7.3 powerstroke diesel 1997 f250
I took my truck to my mechanic to have the glow plugs replaced. He broke one off during the replacement and has advised that the entire head needs now to be removed from the motor in order for him to get at the broken part. He has advised that this will entail 14 hours labour in order to now complete this repair and is looking for an addl $2500CDN to fix the problem he incurred. A. Is this for real that the heads need to be removed or can it be pulled out similar to a sparkplug that may break. B. Why should I pay for his mistake!

Depending on the situation, spray the glow plug with Kroil or PB Blaster. Afterwards, use an appropriate extractor to remove the plug.
