    Intestinal fistulas
    Hello,

My question is relating to gastrointestinal fistulas. My father recently had surgery for

Intestinal blockage. As it turned out parts where he underwent surgery were opening up

And were not healing up fast enough in the process he obtain an infection. The infection is

Slowly healing but his fistulas are not. Doctors have determined that they can not perform

Surgery again because my father is not healthy enough to go another surgery.

What would be my fathers best chance to heal. I understand that if he goes the way of

Allowing fistulas to heal on their own what is the amount of time he is looking at to be

In a hospital? Are there other drugs he can take that will dry up the wounds?

Regarding a constriction in the intestines, I've heard of something called Shlotsky's Ring BUT I'm sure I'm spelling it incorrectly. Cannot find it anywhere under that spelling. If I Google it, all I get is a Jewish Deli. Does this "Sholtsky's Ring", ring a bell with anyone? Thanks

I am looking for scientific informations about which part of digested molecule classes (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids) passes through the intestinal barrier without being (completely) degraded and would be glad for any hint or/and link.
