Wash Machine Needs a Regulation Drainage Outlet
Here is a doozy of a problem. My husband and I own a rental where the dryer is in a room off the kitchen. The people who were leasing to own the house removed the wash machine that was in the kitchen and put in a plumbing box next to the dryer in the off-shoot room. The problem is that they rigged it so it drains out a pipe in the wall and into an unused area of the back yard! Yikes.

Anyway, the location is convenient but there are no sewer pipes on that side of the house. Is it possible to hook up a sump pump that will take the water from the wash machine up into the attic (this is a rambler), run the exit pipe along the ceiling and down the kitchen wall and tie it into the sewer there? We want to do this right so there is no problem when we eventually sell the property. What is EVERYTHING we will have to do.

    Thanks!

There must be better way connecting w/m to sewer. I think better way would be to locate exterior sewer clean out and tap into it right there. Or you can drill Dry Well and have it drain into it. Many people drain water to their backyards to relieve septic tank. They install dedicated leach line servicing only the washer.

Hi, About 15 years ago, we moved our kitchen to a different part of the house. This involved moving gas, electrics, plumbing etc. However over the last 5 years (could have been longer!) we've noticed that the drainage for the sink and washing machine seems to be overflowing in the outside...

The other day the washing machine drain overflowed all of a sudden. Thinking it is clogged for sure I have attempted to snake the drain with no luck. I can't seem to get the snake past the 90 degree (no trap) curve at the bottom of the standpipe. I next attempted a drain cleaning bladder which...

My KitchenAid washing machine wants to overflow out of the drainage pipe onto my floor when I do a load of laundry. I've tried putting drain declogger in the pipe. I was wondering if you can drain directly outside, into say a garden bed, instead of into a drainage system. Such as a pipe that goes outside and down to the ground level and drains into the flowerbed.
