    Playboy Argument !
Can you please help solve an argument between me and my ten year old daughter ?
Is she too young to have a Playboy bedroom?
As I told her I would revamp her room she has chosen Playboy !
I think it far too old - she shares a room with her 6 year old sister too !
Problem is as her argument goes " But all my friends have Playboy stuff"

Yes exactly that is what I associate it with - but you know that pink or white bunny head is the design - her friends have the school bags etc - I find it not appropriate yet it is the latest craze - funky lamps and fluffy pink chairs and bedding etc

Oh, no! I'm not sure kids even understand the whole Playboy concept but I don't think I would be very happy about it.

I guess if you wait long enough, everything comes back again!

No it's not appropriate. Don't cave - you're the adult!

I know it. My neighbor has a 12 year old and has to watch her like a hawk. They have the "take off the make up" argument several times a week while waiting for the school bus.

    Kids grow up too fast.

I was babysitting a 6 yr old once and she told me I wasn't allowed to wear a bra because only mummies wear bras! So cute!

Why don't you tell here she is allowed a pink fluffy room but not the playboy logo?

I think that maybe a good idea - fluffy and pink but no rabbits !
Yes we have the nail vanish argument too - no idea what her PE teacher must think of her neatly painted toe nails in bright purple !

I don't think kids understand the playboy thing at that age, ( I hope not any way) but if you feel that it is inappropriate, don't be afraid to say no. We can't let our kids fall into just any fad they want to and its our job to see that they don't just do something because their friends are doing it. If you go into the DIY website, you might find SIMILAR decoration ideas that are more age appropriate. You could probably come to a great compramise.

I'm shaking my head at this one. I can understand a 10 yr old boy wanting a room decorated in a Playboy (Tm) motif. But a 10 yr old girl!!

I think its time to have a LONG talk with her. I also think you should talk to the school. I really don't think Playboy paraphernalia is appropriate in school. I think the school should be letting these parents that would let their pre-teen children carry on like that, that it is unacceptable.

It is sad to many parents think they should be their children's friend first then parent. I have a niece she is only 1 but if I walked in my sisters house in 9 years and saw playboy stuff in her room I would slap the ISH out of my brother in law then have my mom come over and slap the ISH out of my sister. Stand your ground mum2five 10 year old girls should not want to have anything to do with playboy. I mean how do they even know about it? Do they watch the stupid show the girls next door? You know the one about Hef and his live in "girlfriends"

I see girls, probably 12 or 13, at the local Mall all the time with things like, "Pretty baby," "Sweet" and "Juicy" written across their, umm, posteriors.

And apparently their mothers allowed them out of the house like that.

The School District in my area FINALLY banned goth clothing. Certain classes looked like Vampire City and the teachers couldn't get control.

It's gotten out of control. I now frequently confiscate clothing from my teenaged sisters that is too revealing.

The thing that scares me is that their peers so sexualized that now it's all the rage to take naughty photos and videos with one's cell phone and actually share that with the opposite sex! It's become such a common thing among them that most teenagers don't even think twice about it.
