Dealership went bankrupt and I can't get my title
I bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler in Oct. 2008. I got the paperwork for the financing, but never received the registration info from the DMV. After several weeks and phone calls to the DMV (who said they never received the registration paperwork), I found out that the dealership went bankrupt. I have been on the phone for hours with Chrysler Corporation (they say this dealership is not related to them, that they are an independent dealership), the DMV and the company who took over the paperwork after the bankruptcy. The company could not find my paperwork, but told me there was an upcoming court date with the dealership. As it turns out, the dealership won their case and can get all their stuff back. Where does this leave me? I have called the dealership - nobody answers. I don't know if they plan to open their business again, but my beautiful Jeep is sitting in my driveway because I've exhausted all the temp. tags (3). What can I do? Can you sue a company that went bankrupt? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Think I know what dealership that was, they owed me money too.
But did you file a claim against them in bankruptcy court for the title, did you appear during the bankrutpcy hearing and ask the bankruptcy judge to order them to provide you with the title.

You would have had what I would consider a secure claim against them for that title and needed to approach it though the bankruptcy court.

You may still file a motion against them in court, even if they "won" the case is not final for a few months in case issues arise.

Hi. We have some land in the city on the highway. We were thinking about buying and selling cars. We know there is a lot of work involved. I was just curious if anybody out there has done this before and how did it turn out. Not sure if this is the right place for this post. :D
