    H1 Visa Tax Returns
    I just started my H1 on Oct 2008. And I need to know if I file for tax returns for 2008 will I be able to get back all the taxes as my yearly income is $13000. And also I do wan't to know what is the limit for which one can receive his taxes back , like if his annual salary is less than $20000 or $15000. Please help me out.

    When did you enter the U.S. Are you married?
    First you must find out if you will file non-resident tax return or resident tax return.
    On non-resident return, your taxable income is $13,000 minus $3,500 = $9,500.
    If you do not have any itemized deduction, your federal tax is about $1,000.
