    No Work in 2008
    Can I still file an income tax return for record purposes even if I did not work in 2008?

    There is no advantage. It will have all zeros.

    You may want to file to collect the Recovery Rebate or, if passed by Congress, a new Economic Stimulus Rebate.

    Otherwise, MukatA is correct.
