    t.v. upgrade
I recently replaced my old TV with a 54 inch flat plasma TV. I have direct TV as my provider. My problem is the clarity of the picture is lacking. It just is not as clear as it should be. If a person in there TV show makes an abrupt move, the motion has a "trails" or ghosting effect. It's just not a sharp picture. Help!

Do you know what model of a direct TV receiver you have, and how it's connected to the TV? It may be the way things are connected together, orjust the settings on the box itself.

Plasma's are supposed to be better when it comes to blurring of fast moving images (I don't agree.. I think the picture is terrible compared to LCD... but I'm no expert. ;) )

The most important question is how did you connect the DirectTV to the Tv? (which hookups did you use?)

Also.. did you play with all the settings? Adjusting color level ? Sharpness, contrast, etc? Many tvs have preset "bases" too.. like my LCD has Movie, STandard, Bright, Etc...

Maybe this is a stupid questons but do you have an HD receiver?

Do you know the hertz your TV runs at? For newer HDTV's they recommend getting 100 or 120 HZ response times. It could just be the TV, what brand is it?
