I do have a touque, darnit, I'm a goner. :(
You haven't had walrus meat? Wow, you're really missing the good life. ;) I saw a polar bear once, at the zoo. As for the sleds as means of transport, why do you think I have 3 dogs? I've been ice fishing once in my life, when I was around 6 years old. I remember it well, I almost fell into the darn hole and became an Altysicle. We had to drive for hours just to find a lake that we were told had fish, we fished all day until someone finally told us that finding fish in the lake was like finding Santa in Hawaii, not going to happen. ;)
Aboot the touque, I only wears it in winter. ;)

Maybe we will get a Chinook, and we can go to Timmies for a double double, some Timbits and a Nanaimo bar! Then we can put on our runners and go for a Kokanee and some Poutine! It's Happy Hour at the Pub so bring your Loonies and Toonies! Then we can take off to Cowtown and compete with the Buckle Bunnies for Jello Shots! Then we can do a farmer turn to Edmonchuk and get a farmer tan along the way. We can't forget to stop and pick up a flat and a forty pounder!

How do you differentiate between chat speak and just poor grammar and spelling?
Maybe English is someones second language , you would not want to be considered prejudicial ,would you?
I do appreciate the concept in theory but what are you going to do if someone with a very serious problem logs on and asks for help in chat speak?
First... I hesitate to throw around the word prejudice so easily. It dilutes and diminishes the meaning of the word.
If I wander onto a site that is in spanish or cantonese or anything but english... I don't think "those terrible, prejudiced people!"...
I think... well, they have a niche market and perhaps limited resources for their site, bandwidth...
So...
Yes, there are gray areas... btw's and lol's get passed all the time. Some experts and mods are more strict than others. Personally I don't care all that much until it becomes 2 much lik this an you no it isn't the fault of a skipped consonant here or there.
Short answer is life demands some restrictions most of the time. If you cannot speak in a manner that those offering you help (again... free help here... ) can manage... then maybe you need to seek other resources.
I have a refugee couple living with me, rent free. One speaks broken english, the other barely understands it and speaks less. I'm happy to give them the resources I can. If either posted on this site with textspeak, id turn them away.
Site rules. Its not prejudiced to ban textspeak. It is a restriction that might limit the usefulness of AMHD to some members... but not prejudiced.
It is prejudiced to kill the father, brothers, and sister of an 11 year old boy in the congo because he belonged to the "wrong tribe"...
I'm guessing maniriho wouldn't find the request for textspeak to be abandoned here to be a gross violation of his rights as a human... maybe that's just perspective.
Then again... if the site ever demands the proper use of capital letters and punctuation, well, it'll be a hard decision to make. I like my lazy shortcuts...
But it isn't my site or rules.

I'm impressed Starby, you pulled that off without a hitch, I couldn't have done it. Now I have a craving for Timmies, bad girl, and a nanimo bar, after my poutine, my heavenly, heavenly poutine (a heart attack waiting to happen!).
Did you hear that their talking about getting rid of the $5 bill and turning it into a coin too? How much weight do they expect us to carry? What will they call it? We've got the loonie, the toonie, are we getting a foonie?

KP, bravo, bravo, bravo, I couldn't have said it better myself, in fact, I didn't say it better.
Personally, if you started using capitals I wouldn't know what to do. I like your uncapitalized posts, they are pleasing to the eye. Now, I myself cannot go without capitals, too many years of typing and having my fingers wacked with a ruler if I did it wrong. Darn typing teachers, they're all mean! :(

Before we know it all of our money will be coins, we'll have to lift weights just to be strong enough to carry a wallet! :(
I thought they were being reasonable with the loonie, a bit insane with the toonie, but a $5 coin, have they lost it completely? Darn Canadian government, they won't be happy until they break our backs!
I say fooey to the foonie!

Yup! Darnit, got to hook up the team to the sled, it's time for me to pick up the kids. I'll be back later, hold down the igloo for me.
Are we bugging them too much about the Canadian thing Starby? ;)

Make sure you don't get pulled over by the Mounties and get caught with a Mickey or worse yet, a Texas Mickey or a poverty pack you square head! And whatever you do... don't go stubble jumping!

Actually, I'm waiting for Wiggy to get home with din din and then I have to give the rugrats a bath, tuck them in, read them a book, go crazy, cry, drink, you know, the usual! ;)
I'll email you when I'm done with all that, then we can talk without the "mommy, I want, mommy Jared hit me, mommy Sydney won't play with me, mommy, mommy, mommy". It's amazing, when they're born you can't wait until they say "mommy" for the first time, now I sometimes wish they didn't know the word! ;)
