I am planning to add an addition to my house the problem is the wall I'd like to demo for the additon is where my Electrical service is.

Bare in mind I have not talked to the town inspector yet and I'm trying to finalize my plans to get my permits. Just trying to make sure I'm covering every area of concern. I am an industrial electrician and haven't done much residential electrical. I can build one heck of a service able withstand an explosive atmoshere and vibration but I think that would be a little too expensive and a little ridiculous. I need some residential experience.

My plans are to move the 200 AMP panel located in the laundry/ utility room to another wall a few feet away. Install a new meter can on another exterior wall of my house. Install a new underground conduit from existing POCO pole to new meter. Install an outdoor 200 AMP panel next to the meter with 200 AMP main breaker and spaces for additional breakers for an outdoor kitchen I hope to add later rather than try to add wiring through my attic etc. I am also considering feeding a new sewer modad system and possibly adding a minimum 60 AMP circuit to a new shop later on. Again adding these circuits from the outdoor panel would be a lot easier than trying to add them to my exisitng indoor panel. Anyway I'm planning to feed my exisitng 200 AMP indoor panel from the new 200 AMP outdoor Panel via feed through lugs. I have already installed a 4/C #2/0 w/ GND, 600V Tray Cable in my attic from the new meter location to the existing indoor panel.

Does this sound like the best way to do this or can you offer an alternate idea?

Can I feed my existing 200 AMP panel from the new 200 AMP outdoor panel via feed through lugs and have additional breakers in the outdoor panel for some additional outdoor circuits?

Should I put a combination meter panel?

Before you talk to the Inspector, talk to the POCO. They decide where they will allow the meter to be.
