Can a collection agency levy a bank account in TX after a judgement?
I live in TX and had a judgement against me for >$3500 plus costs. It was back in 2006. I do not work, have no property in my name, but have a bank account that my husband's salary in deposited into each month (he is the second on the account). Can the collection agency/"law office" levy this bank account? How do they notify you if they are going to do something like that? Any way to protest? How long do you have? They called me today and left a message to call them, but I'm not sure if this is something they might be thinking of if they can. Not sure what to do. They wouldn't work with me the first time.

Not sure on the laws in your state. Usually a creditor can freeze an account if your name is on it, but I heard contrary about TX law.
