I don't know what to do.
I applied for a job and was rejected with a letter indicating I had an active warrant dating back to 2004! I had no prior knowledge of it. I've even worked for a sheriff's office since then. This is the first time I've ever applied for a job and was told this. I've never received any type of documentation about this. Is there anything I can do? Is there a statute of limitations on warrants? I don't want to go to jail. From my research, this is a misdemeanor. I'm am very nervous and scared. What can I do?

There is no limitation on warrants either felony or misdemeanor. Would suggest you contact whatever clerk's office and check to see what this is all about and then get it cleared up as soon as possible with the help of an attorney.
