    How does having a felony on your record, make life difficult?

    I was a probation and parole officer for a long time and the most obvious complication was the job market. One of the conditions of parole and probation in Maryland is to get a job and it wasn't easy for people with felony convictions. There were certain occupations where it didn't seem to matter, such as roofers and landscaping, but generally it did.
