Can IOWA tax depart. Levy my .SEC.SSDI?
I see that the IRS can and does get 15% of my SSDI (disability income). Can my state tax (Iowa Revenue) also? If so how much?:eek:

Is the SSDI your ONLY source of income?

If so, then the IRS should NOT be able to garnish your only source of income, because doing so will substantially impair your modest standard of living. You may need to contact the Tax Advocate at the IRS to stop the garnishment.

Same rules apply to the state of Iowa.

Now, if you have OTHER sources of income or are being supported by family members, then your SSDI IS fair game for garnishment by the IRS and the state of Iowa.
