    Check bounced
    I received a check for being a mystery shopper and I put it in the bank I took money out that week when I went to get more out that weekend my account was frozen they said that the check had bounced and that I was in the negitave 1,400.00 and now they say that if I do not pay this money by Monday that they will contact the police what will happen once they call the police can I be charged for the bad check even though I did not write it can I be sent to jail?

    Please don't tell me that this "mystery shopping" was where they sent you a check, you cashed it, and had to mystery shop western union?? You sent them back part of the money from the check.

    If so this was a scam, western union does not use mystery shoppers, and in fact mystery shoppers do not even get paid till they are done with the shop,

    And the average mystery shopping fee is 12 dollars to 25 dollars for a shop. So unless you did 100's of shops, there is no way it would be a 1000 dollars.

    Actually you can be charged with fraud in most US states for check fraud.
