    Changing the shocks on a motorcycle
    When pulling off the shock off a 04 VTX 1300 is the shock spring loaded or will it come off easy

    Not much,let axle hang down as far as possible and remove when reinstalling diff rate spring it might be necessary to preload it a little but nothing you can't do with a well positioned floor jack

    The shocks will come off as a complete assembly, you may have to wiggle the swingarm a bit to pry the rubber bushings from the mounts.
