    Hi, marcie golson!

This sort of question has been asked previously on this site. If you look down at the bottom of this page, you'll see links to questions that have been similar to yours. You might want to click on some of them to see what some of the answers have been.

You say that you're putting together a wedding coordinator portfolio. Would that be the same thing as a wedding planner or consultant? If so, then what sort of services and/or specialties in services would you be able to offer people, please?

    Thanks!

Have you done this work in the past? If so, will your former employer or client allow you to use pictures of their event? It's difficult to get your first client unless they are friend or family. I got my first wedding client by planning their wedding for free. I posted an ad on Craig's List explaining my employment history in event planning and stated that I would like to venture into weddings. I said I was seeking a couple that would like help in planning their wedding. In exchange for my services, they allowed me to use their pictures for promotion (must also get photographer's permission) and use them as a reference. I built from there.
