    Honeywell Zone Control Panel
I'm installing an additional transformer to power the zone control panel & dampers. Can I just "tie" into the existing 120 power supply that is connected to a shut off switch that is attached to the furnace?

You can if done properly. A transformer of 40VA does not draw that much extra current.
