    Young and in trouble!
I know this question gets asked probably one thousands times, but here I am another woman asking. I am 24 years old and very over weight. I am studying to become a Physical Education teacher, and I feel that I would not be a great role model to my students. I know being in all of these classes I should know what to do, but I just don't. There are a lot of health issues in my family and I really do not want my life to end short.
I weight about 180lbs and I am only 5'2 (short and pudgy haha). I have no self-esteem and of course I am single and looking for my man, but I feel the way I look will not attract him.

My main question is can someone please help me find a way to lose weight healthy but in a quick amount of time? I am tried of living in this body and I just want to get out and be the person I know that is inside. Please someone help!! :(

    Thank you sooo much!!

That's not heavy. I'm 170, and I can still still get called in on certain jobs at work to sqeeze into hard to fit in areas.

Aaah... what do people always fret about this? As long as your are eating right, and excersizing, what's more to worry about?

    Regarding a man:

Would you rather have a man to love you for who you are?

Or a man to "love" you for what he wants you to look like?

What will happen to this man if you fall in love, marry, and 10 years down there road, you are 180 lbs again? Will he stick around?

Some men don't like women who disappear when they turn sideways.

Pictures in glamour magazines are doctored. A good role model comes from the heart, soul, and character, not pants size.

Yeah, it is heavy. Obese in fact. If she were eating right and exercising she wouldn't be 180 pounds. Sorry, but your support is enabling, not helping.

Exercise more and eat better. That is the only real solution. You know, as a phys ed professional, the fact that you have to burn more calories than you take in to lose weight. Roughly 2000 calories more per pound, if I recall correctly. Go on a 12-1500 calorie diet and burn 2000 calories a day and you will drop a healthy 2 pounds a week. Keep it up until you reach a healthy BMI and feel better about how you look and feel. The health benefits from the weightloss will come naturally.

Eat right and exercise... You probably hear that and know that but it's true. You have to stick to it. Start by getting your colon clean and start fresh. You'll lose 5-10 pounds just doing that. Cut out the Soda (even diet) and you'll lose really quick, replace Soda with water. You don't want to lose to fast because then you'll have flab.

Fast weight loss and healthy, maintainable weight loss do not go hand in hand. Try keeping a food journal, write down EVERYTHING you put in your mouth for 2 weeks, a month is even better. Write down how many calories are in everything in your journal.

Remember, drastic changes are hard to maintain, start with little ones. Examples: Switch from drinking sodas to drinking water. Wean yourself off fast food. Cook your own food instead of buying processed meals.

Focus on one diet change at a time and once it becomes a habit you can change something else. Challenge your body with a variety of exercises to burn off calories and avoid boredom. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, little changes make a difference in the long run. Good luck!

While that is a little heavy it is far from grossly over weight, so we see two issues
    1. you are a little over weight
    2. you have very low self esteem

And yes depending how far into your training you should know this.

    So.
    1. get cleared by your doctor for a weight loss program
    2. get on a balanced diet
    3. start a workout program,
    4. let it include walking, lots of walking
5.talk with the student counseling department to get feeling better about yourself

Get out and volunteer somewhere, do things for others. Making a difference in someone else's life can do wonders for yourself esteem. Try Volunteer Match to see if they have something in your area that interests you.

Losing weight is about becoming healthier. Eating a healthier diet will enable you to lose weight.

If you want to get help with losing weight read this blog post :http://myhealthessentials.blogspot.c...for-weary.html

Self help books are also good for self-esteem. One book I really like is,"The Magic of Thinking Big". If you want to see about that book on the side bar of the blog post you will see My Health Essentials Bookstore and you can click on that and you will see that book. It is an excellent read.

I used to go to the gym 5 days per week, and I lost 30 lbs over the course of 6 months or so. It was awesome. I don't have time to do that anymore with my work schedule, but I've been eating fruit for breakfast, taking a lean cuisine to work for lunch or something healthy and drinking more water. As far as dinner goes, I just do whatever my husband and I agree on.

If you start working out, just remember you're going to gain a little bit of weight at the beginning before you start losing anything, because you will be building muscle. Mix up your routine for the best results though. Pilates one day, treadmill one day, eliptical, bike, strength training, etc.
