If she walked out before the sentencing she basically did not appear, at least in NY State. She needs to surrender herself before she's picked up on a warrant.

She also "probably" needs to find an Attorney who is willing to represent her at her expense because the Court "probably" allowed the Attorney to withdraw or removed the Attorney from representing her.

She also didn't do herself any good as far as sentencing is concerned.

She in the best situation got a 'Contempt of court' but as previuosly stated it may go onto the records as a 'FTA' failure to appear. A bench warrant may be issued as we write. Depending on the State and authorities in her area the Marshals may even serve an arrest warrant at her place of business or resience. You don't have to turn yourself in yet! Call the public Defenders' office and try to smooth things over to get a new court date. If you really pissed them off you are looking at turning yourselfg into jail and appearing as an inmate. Again this is dependent on your area and authoriy policy in these situations.

She can not just walk out of court, obviusly she was not hearing what she wanted to hear, Attorneys often tell you the truth, they can not do wonders like TV lawyers most of the time.
