Installing engine in 1989 honda accord
I am considering replacing the engine in my 1989 honda accord. I have a guy that I am planning to have do it for me. I am just curious--how difficult of a job is this? I am by no means a mechanic but my curious nature makes me wonder if this is something I could pull off.

It's a pretty big undertaking. Best if you have a shop manual and a friend or two who can help with the project. It can be a lot of fun and a great learning experience. Years from now, you may look back with a great deal of joy and satisfaction on having replaced the engine yourself, something most people have never done.

Back in the 'ole days, my cousin did it under a tree in a nearby park. My father did it twice in two different cars. The junk yard at the time kind of looked at him funny when the bad engine was dumped in the trunk of the doner vehicle. Both of these swaps were done with a tow truck as the lift.
