    No Compete clause
    If you sell a business and sign a no compete clause and the business closes, do you by law have to honor the no compete

    Hello candy:

    You have an agreement with a defunct company. The only people who would come after you for violating your agreement would be THEM. If there aren't any of THEM to come after you, then go ahead.

    Besides, the purpose for a non compete is to give that company a chance to survive WITHOUT you as a competitor... But, that isn't the case any more, now is it?
