The sun gives you vitamin D?
My parents say I look very pale lately, they also said that I've been spending too much time inside and needs to go out in the sun more. The sun gives out vitamin D and will help me keep from feeling lazy and being pale. Is that true? I do agree I look a little pale lately. I don't know why, same food and routine. Please leave as much advice as you like. Thanks

You say you are Asian and "mostly eat rice." This could either be your diet OR the fact that you are 13.
And, yes, everyone needs Vitamin D, which is hard to get during the Winter when the sun is not at its strongest. Many people take Vitamin D in tablet/pill form.

I mean that at 13 you are growing (probably by leaps and bounds) and are not an adult asking this same question, maintaining his/her health.

What your parents said is approximately true. Vitamin D is not produced by the sun, which is a nuclear fusion-powered star. It does not make vitamins!
Vitamin D is made by your skin cells in response to exposure to ultraviolet radiation, which comes from the sun. Vitamin D is essential to building strong bones, along with calcium and some other minerals. This is the time in your life when you are best able to build strong bones that will last you the rest of your life. Exercises like jumping jacks, running, or anything where you jump around a lot will strengthen your hips and backs and leg bones, so you are less likely to have osteoporosis (thinning of the bones) when you are older. It will also make you feel stronger and better able to face whatever life throws at you--giving you confidence.
Sunshine also combats mild winter depression. Getting outside IS good for you. So is exercise. It will make you healthier, stronger, and happier.
