    Claim dependent.
    I have recently had a child on dec 27 of 2008. Will I be able to claim her on the 2008 tax returns.:confused:

    Congratulations!

    Yes. If she was born as late as 31 Dec 08 at 11:59:59, the IRS considers her your dependent for the ENTIRE year of 2008.
