    Maytag fridge not cooling II
Hi - I'm a newbie - earlier this year there was a thread describing a problem and solutions almost identical to mine. I have a Maytag Plus refrigerator Model # MTB1956GE*. Like "Maytag fridge not cooling", my evap fan (the one that cools the coils on bottom/rear of fridge) won't always kick on when the compressor starts. When it fails to kick on, the body of the fridge around the outside of the freezer gets pretty hot. They described getting a new fan from "Johnstone", and gave part numbers. Problem is, my Panasonic white plastic-shrouded fan motor number is different from the one described in the post. Mine is "Panasonic UDQROO3M2". Specs are 115V-60Hz, 57mA. I don't see that 60xxxxxx p/n anywhere on my motor or fridge. Can anyone help? Is there a Johnstone replacement and, if so, what is the p/n and where can I get one? Thanks - Reid

I think what you have provided it is actually the SN of the motor, not the part number. I hope you have fixed your frig by now. If so, please post what you found wrong.

I found the right new OEM Panasonic replacement motor at our local appliance store. Problem was, the part cost around $75, which wasn't justified in terms of the value of the refrigerator. So -- I went to our local appliance recycle yard and pulled 2 or 3 free motors. Picked the nicest of the bunch, swapped out the fan blade with my original, installed it (near perfect fit), and the refrigerator has been working and cooling nicely ever since.
