    New Snowblower Cutting Out
Brand new (less than one month) 30 inch 10 HP Cub Cadet snowblower worked fine the first 5 or 6 times I used it. Today, started up fine, sounds great, runs forward and backward with no problem, but when I try to engage the blade at all (this runs separately from the self propel), the thing makes a low pitched squeal like there is friction (almost like elephant sound or something), then cuts out entirely. I can't tell if the blades are even moving at all because I can't see in front. Tried a number of times, and then there was smoke and a bad smell, and the place is closed today. Any ideas what's wrong or what I can do. It's still under warranty but the snow is falling now, not in a week.

The snow thrower is gamed up or the front auger is gamed up at the belt on friction clutch is bad. Put it in neutral pull spark plug wires. See if you by hand can turn the front auger. See of you can spin the little spinner snow thrower piece sometimes a little stone can get in there and jammed it up. Look in your manual and the parts and troubling shooting and get to know how it throws snow snd what could jam up.

Well, I wouldn't know about a belt, but I will try to see if I can turn the auger and the little spinner snow thrower piece. We have tons of gravel here, and it throws this with no problem, but it's possible something got caught. No problem putting it in neutral, and I'll check the manual to see how to pull spark plug wires. Thanks so much for your help - I'll let you know if it works...

Have Craftsman 22" snow blower. Starts easy, runs like a champ until I get into snow. It will cut out every minute or so as I am blowing snow. Starts up right away on first pull if I choke it a little, runs again for a minute or so and then cuts out. Same routine for as long as I am using it. Without snow the machine runs without issue, with auger turning and wheels rolling. Have had it to small engine repair shop 3-times. They rebuilt carb, clean gas lines, and filter. Still cuts out when blowing snow. I have watched the auger turning and the inside housing turning to blow the snow up through the chute.

Loosen gas tank cap and see what happens.
