Hello everyone. Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm seriously considering running away and living as some kind of tramp. I am 19, so I'm relatively certain there's no legal issue, and I'm not being abused or anything, but I feel like my life has no real meaning. I want to explore and see the country more than anything else. I don't find any satisfaction in school, work or relationships. The only thing holding me back is my concern for my family. I wouldn't know how to tell them. Can anyone help me? I'm not crazy, but should I talk to a doctor or something?

I'm 28 and often think of running away. Just dropping everything, the job, the family, everything, and just starting over somewhere else.

But then reason kicks in, I have responsiblilities and I understand I have people who love me and care for me, and others who depend on me to provide for them.

I think these thoughts are normal. I don't know your personal situation, but it would seem it's always better to stay with those who care about you. Sure there is a chance you could run away into a better life, but there's a better chance you will regret it.

My life didn't have any meaning at 19. And sometimes I think it still doesn't, after a while, you just get used to it.

I guess in reality, your life has the most meaning to you, you are who you are living for above all others. Running off would isolate you from family and friends. Sooner or later you will have a failure, who will you then fall back on?

You of age to decide for yourself, but keep in mind the bridges you burn.

I don't know about running away but if your life has no meaning (or appears to have no meaning) you have to find a meaning and only you know how to do that - volunteering, taking a break from school, changing majors, finding another job, finding no work.

It sounds like an easy fix and I don't mean it that way but discontent comes from within you, not from outside sources, and that's also the only way you are going to be more content, happy and fulfilled.

At 19 your not running away, join the army they will send out to see things. You or a adult now talk to your parents and get a plan..
