    Misdemeanor vs felony
    My friend got caught stealing a computer out of a public school. She got 4years probation theft 1500. Is this a misdemeanor or felony?

    It's a felony. The maximum time one can spend on a misdemeanor is one year...

    Definitely a felony due to the dollar amount and the 4 years.
