    Garnishing LLC bank account
    Can the state of California garnish my LLC bank account because I owe child support or are the business funds protected?:confused:

    Hello ton:

    If the state or your ex can prove you are hiding assets in your LLC, then they will "pierce the corporate veil", and take the money.

    Yes, if you are using any of the LLC money for your personal account then it is no longer protected.

    So if you are earning a high income in the LLC and merely not paying yourself money to not pay support, ( beyond being morally wrong) they can get to the funds.

    Your support payment is based on your income, so they had to prove your income to get the support set?
