I am on L1B. And my spouse is on L2.

1.Please tell me the procedure for applying for a new EAD (Employment authorization document) through online as well as paper submission

2. Since I heard that online application takes time for processing, I would like to go for a paper submission. For doing a paper submission of documents, should I get a Infopass appointment to go to Chicago (USCIS) since that is the nearest location or is it enough if I mail all the required documents to USCIS with Application fee cheque?

3. Is Finger print appointment needs to be done if we do a paper submission of documents for our new EAD application? My spouse is planning to visit US for a period of short time to apply for EAD and go back. Would there be any immediate follow up appointments for getting his EAD approved for with USCIS in which case he needs to be in US for some more time. Please clarify the same.

4. With L2 Visa, is it enough if my spouse applies only for EAD or What is AP? Should he applies for this as well when on L2 along with EAD?

5.What are I140, I485 applications. Are they anyway related to EAD?Should he apply for I140,I485 and get it approved before applying for EAD?

To appy for EAD for L-2, you need form I-765 and copy of L-1 approval documents. Read the instructions part carefully before you proceed.
