    Problems with jaw.
I am 15 and I am havng some problems with my jaw...

    First...

It feels like sometimes it gets locked, and I have to like unlock it before I can yawn and open my mouth wide and stuff... I feel like I have to make it move before I can open it?

    Second...

Today I noticed there was some pain in my jaw when I bit down and it started hurting more and more an I couldn't even bit down anymore?

I have been told it could be because of my jaw like growing for new teeth?

    But I don't believe that..

    Has this happened to anyone?
    Please help

See your dentist and have him/her check your temporomandibular joint. It sounds like you might be clenching or grinding your teeth. Are you under a lot of stress?

Make sure you aren't eating things that are really chewy like bagels, chewing gum, etc. and when you yawn, keep the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth. This will prevent you from opening too wide and stretching the ligaments in the TMJ. You could also take an anti-inflammatory like Advil to help with the discomfort.

    Good luck.

If your jaw is really bothering you, you should make an appointment to see your dentist sooner than 2 months. It sounds like you are clenching/grinding your teeth, probably at night. Are you waking up with headaches? Are you having any earaches?

Only if it locks open and you can't close it yourself.
If you want to wait until your scheduled appointment with your dentist, try to find something to help relieve your stress, yoga, running, swimming, meditation, etc. Avoid eating chewy foods and try not to sleep with your hands under your cheek. Avoid sitting for long periods in front of a computer as it puts you into forward head posture which causes you to clench.

They'll give you exercises, perhaps suggest you wear a nightguard or suggest physiotherapy.
