    Noisy ceiling fan?
I recently purchased a Hampton Bay ceiling fan from Home depot. I had the fan installed but it made a clanking noise so we dismantled it and took it back to the store. Because I had lost the receipt I could not get a refund or another brand fan. Therefore I got another fan exactly like the first one. I had it installed and it makes the same noise as the other one. What can I do?

Is it out of balance? If its wired correctly then no go maybe defect Take it down (no juice hooked up) and spin the motor by hand and get a flashlight and look in the housing and see if there's anything sticking out. Check the part that the blades attach to and see if that is out of round Not sure of your set up . If not take it back and get a store credit 2for2

Make sure it is assembled correctly and all screws are tight.

See if you can pinpoint what is contacting what to make the noise.

If you can't figure it out I would take it back and INSIST they give you a store credit, and use it towards a Hunter.
