Need schematic for above ground water pump
Have what might be a very slight leak in a pipe that comes out of the well, about six inches from the pump. Is this normal ?
Never noticed any water leak before.

NO that leak an also cause you to lose the "prime" on the well and no water. Is the leak a pin hole type or a split look or at a barbed fitting where there is SS clamps around it? Does the leak area look a little fatter? The line could have frozen for some hours and split the pipe. Is this the black well line. Is it a short piece from pump to a 90.

"That comes out of the well" is a bit to vague.

Need more Info /detail Post back please Thank You.

My well pump resembles a Double Drop Jet-Pump System, except the 2nd pipe coming from the well does not connect to the pump. It appears to be some sort of pressure release U valve instead.

I noted today that there is a very slight spray coming from it somewhere.

Does not appear to be causing any malfunction but am concerned that it might be a warning that something (like running out of water) more serious might be ready to happen.

What is this 2nd pipe for ?
Is it unusual for the spray to be coming out ?

    Tom,
Thank you very much for the schematic image. Yes my well pump definitely looks like the Double Drop Jet-Pump System schematic…….. except that there is one additional pipe coming from the well that does not connect to the pump.

This third pipe appears to be some sort of pressure release valve ending in an inverted “J”. I noted yesterday that there is a very slight spray coming from it somewhere but today the spray has stopped. Because the well pump is normally “out of sight” this condition could very well be completely normal and might have been this way for years !

What do you think this 3rd pipe is for ?
Is it unusual for the spray to be coming out ?
    Am I a worry wort ?

    Thanks
    Lloyd
