didn't qualify for legal aid and cannot afford lawyer.
    Hey there

I am wondering if anyone can help me or give me advice on this.
I am being charged with theft under 5000 (x11)... I applied for legal aid, and didn't receive and answer by my court date, I went to my court date and duty counsel remanded my court date to the following month, due to the fact I am 7 months pregnant and cannot wait very long to have my court date any longer then it is... however I have received my papers for disclosure, I cannot afford a lawyer due to circumstances in my family, I am wondering since I have already received these papers if I can represent myself since I already know my sentancing?

Sure you can represent yourself but that is never a good idea to do so. What was your charge and what do you think your sentence will be since you received the disclosure paperwork? What state/country are you in?

Are you talking about a diversion program when you say "papers"?

Please post your question once - it's very confusing when you post some information on one thread, other (or different) info on another.

Both threads have to be read to get the sole picture - and the advice will be the same on both threads.
