    Wiring Thermostat for fan only
I have a forced hot air heating system and would like to be able to turn on the blower fan independently from the boiler to move the air in my house and use my in line humidifier. I have a wood stove and don't use my oil burner much, I have a separate hot water heater. I only have 2 wires from the oil burner to my Hunter electronic thermostat. I have a honeywell R8184G controller on the oil burner. Does anyone know how to wire my set up to allow me to control the fan only from my thermostat?

What type of fan are you referring to? If you have some type of fan coil unit for air conditioning with a hot water coil ducted in, you will likely have to pull a new thermostat wire with more conductors (most commonly 5). What terminal designations does your current thermostat have?

The fan is a drum unit, Emerson SA55 1/3 HP, 6amp fan. The thermostat has five terminals, RC, RH, G, W, Y. The thermostat leads go to a controller on the burner, which goes to a limit switch (for hot air temp limits) and then on to the fan. Thanks
