    The answer to that question gets rather technical. You can read the info on the quads at both AMD's and Intel's sites. Also a good third party site for comparisons is tomshardware.com.

    The bottom line is that it won't make much of a difference to most people. Both give perfomances that the avergage person would be hard pressed to see in everyday computing. The hardware is so far ahead of the software it will be a few years before software can catch up.
